Foreword
Homografía/Homography (H.H.) is a queer video & performance festival focused on sexuality beyond the norm. It's a programme of short films, artworks, and performances that evoke the relationship between sexuality, gender identity and artistic creation.
Homografía/Homography (H.H.) is a queer video & performance festival focused on sexuality beyond the norm. It’s a programme of short films, artworks, and performances that evoke the relationship between sexuality, gender identity and artistic creation.
Created in Mexico in 2015 and taking place in Brussels since 2019, this year the festival runs from 29th September to 1st October, in 3 new venues: RESET for an opening prepared by the Fatsabbats collective; La Bellone for a unique rendez-vous with Camille Pier; and Recyclart for 12 performances, 2 concerts, 4 screenings, 2 talks, 2 workshops, and the H.H. exhibition featuring 6 queer artists and collectives.
Celebrating the decriminalisation of sex work in Belgium, Homografía/Homography brings back our traditional speed dating with local sex workers and proposes a special panel discussion about the impact of this historic decision after years of fight for sex workers’ rights. Amping up our sex positivity to levels never seen before, this year our Black BoxXx makes its own coming out: leaving the usual dark room format to become a public screening of selected porn works reflecting today’s activist erotica — more diverse and political than ever.
Finally, paying tribute to our Mexican origins, H.H. also invites visitors to two special happenings: a talk and a performance with Rocío Boliver, consecrated as one of Mexico’s major performance artists thanks to her work and activism against violence towards women.
The queer warriors who survive the intensive 3-day program will be rewarded with the hottest of the rewards: the H.H. closing party! Get ready to sweat on the dance floor to live performances by Travesti Biológica, House ov Awakening, and several guest DJs and performers.
