Red hall & pop-up art shop
As part of the festival Homografía, La Garçonnière Prod. and Banquet Production, with Agathe Dananaï and Lucie Pinier present a selection of five artists in incisive dialogue with the programme, celebrating non-normative representations, the fluidity of desires and the quest for interconnections. The variety of mediums and perspectives successively explore the representation of bodies and identities in the digital age. Here, figurative painting is questioned through the prism of non-binary, playing with contemporary symbols and using selfies as a tool for positive self-portrayal. The idea of safer space, both ecological and political, questions borders, facilitates interactions and paves the way to a fascinating hybridity between human, machine and non-human beings. Folk images are blended with queer imaginaries to create new figures of desire, acting both as spells and as objects of healing. The complexity of nature enters into a dialogue with popular iconography. Art as a political and social act, gives voice to activism, healing, celebration, enchantment and empowerment!

TALK : Santé.S (FR)
BEURSCAFE
We offer you a conversation with three perspectives, three paths and experiences around the issue of health. We will seek to understand how access to health care remains unequal and unsuitable for queers. We will also seek to understand how at the individual and collective level we can reclaim health as a community good. Whether it’s taking care of yourself, your loved ones, or current or future means of community care.

PERFO: J’OFFRE MON SANG
RED CORRIDOR
Milka Kongi Mbunga, aka the artist Kongi, muse of our wildest and daring nights, tells here about the obsession with blood. She says: “in many of our African cultures the blood of the virgin is the currency that pays for honor. We preserve this flow of blood religiously, so as not to soil the sheet of shame and the entire family with it. The sacred task that wells up on the sheet of purity, diffuses as the obsession grows and floods its existence.

VIDEO PROGRAMME
BEURSCAFE
Video, in its inception in the 1960s, was not considered an art form, but rather remained excluded from the defined art system. The function of video did not emerge independently of other art forms (visual art, dance, theater, performance). The American and European movements of the 1960s –Fluxus– provided the context to understand Video as an abstract medium with all the attributes of modernist work: dispersion, reproduction, ephemeral, theatrical and interdisciplinary.
Homografía has been showing queer art in the video genre since its creation in Mexico then in Brussels, in direct liaison with performance as a crucial point. This year’s selection is unique, a challenge that gave a one and only screening in Beurscafé transformed into a community centre free of access.
Please check the Cinema for more videos from Latin America as we have given a Carte Blanche to Cuorum Colectivo from Morelia, Mexico. In the Red Corridor. Free from 16.00 till 22.00
