Biography
David Vitry Ferreira—better known as Kinkybanana—carries a name that began as a joke and evolved into a brand. A video director, cinemagician, and creative alchemist based in Berlin, his spirit roams far beyond physical borders.
Raised in Geneva with Portuguese and Réunionese roots, he absorbed the vibrant cultural chaos of 90s and Y2K television, music, and fashion. After a few seasons in Paris—where he married, explored dance, music, and theatre, divorced, and found himself working as a stylist—he eventually lost himself in Berlin, only to rediscover his true power in queer media. As the creative director of Boner Magazine, he honed his vision before fully embracing his inner child’s desire to expand into video. His projects feel like transmissions from a parallel dimension, constantly redefining sexuality, sensuality, and human connection.
His creative chart is a cosmic cocktail: a Sun blazing in VHS nostalgia, with an AI surrealism rising. A Moon steeped in Jodorowsky, Kenneth Anger’s rebellion fuelling Mars, and Isaac Julien’s poetic Neptune harmonizing with Claire Denis’s sexy, twisted Venus. The result? Esoteric, sensual, and unapologetically playful.
At its core, his work is a love letter to the LGBTIQ+ community—inclusive, sex-positive, and always a celebration of diversity in sacred unity.
