THE MARCH: WALKING TO…
Place de la Bourse
Join us for a collective walk to mark the opening of the festival at La Bellone. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are delighted to welcome back the performer J BOY. “Walking to…” is an open, participatory march—everyone is invited to join and propose their own reasons for walking. The aim is to explore and expand the possibilities of what a walk can be, and what it can stand for. This action is a continuation of the project “Walking to Pleasure” by the artist : a practice of walking and listening to the sounds our bodies produce—transforming movement into a form of protest and affirmation. It asks: how do our bodies, moving alone or together, become carriers of messages in public space? In 2024, the project took the form of research workshops, exploring the barriers, fears, and constraints that prevent free, confident movement in public space.

PANEL DISCUSSION
PANEL DISCUSSION with Didier Lestrade, Giovanna Rincon, Rim Battal, moderated by Maria Dogahe
Opening Homografía festival, this panel brings together voices to reflect on the ongoing battles fought through bodies, identities, and art. From the frontlines of protest to the margins of everyday life, our histories are shaped by resistance—against erasure, against violence, against silence.
In a world that often demands our disappearance, we speak, we perform, we resist. Join us in honouring the legacies of those who came before—and in imagining new futures forged through collective fight.

BOOKS SIGNING
Book Signing with Didier Lestrade and Rim Battal.
After the panel discussion, meet our guest authors. Didier Lestrade will present and sign Mémoires (Éditions Stock, 2025), in which he reflects on his journey as an activist, journalist, and a key figure in the fight against AIDS. This intimate and powerful testimony traces decades of commitment, anger, and freedom. Rim Battal will be signing her two most recent publications: the poetry collection X et excès (Le Castor Astral, 2024) — the inspiration for the performance — and her debut novel Je me regarderai dans les yeux (Bayard Récits, 2025). This novel offers a deeply intimate journey into the complexities of identity and belonging. Through lyrical prose, the story explores themes of self-reflection, memory, and the search for truth within oneself.
Thanks to our longstanding partner, Tulitu Bookshop, a stand offering a selection of books will be set up in the courtyard of La Bellone.

PERFORMANCE: Clash Machine
The Clash machine was born from the encounter of a deviant crew and the Belgian Wrestling World (MetX). This collective of choreographers, fighters, drag artists and creators is high on violence, stage frenzy and synthetic hormones.
Because they like to cross frontiers, after invading parties and events (Gay Haze, Homografia), they now wanna spread conflicts insides theaters and institutions for those
who are not ashamed of enjoying and reclaiming brutality.
So if you think you have the gut for it, come and join Vakah Profana, Mimi Mangetesmorts, Le Bourreau de Bitume, Marry me Natalie, and Momo L’Erotico on the ring.

PERFORMANCE: X et excès
“X et excès” is a performance created for the 10th anniversary of Homografia, bringing together poet Rim Battal and musician Isa Stragliati. Together, they explore the body as a site of identity, trauma, power, and resistance. Rim Battal’s evocative text is a meditation on the body’s excesses and limits, delivered through her intense, fluid voice. Isa Stragliati’s live music, with deep hypnotic rhythms and raw techno beats, offer a dark, sensual soundscape that both complements and challenges the poetry. “X et excès” examines the body not only as a personal expression but also as a site of political struggle. It intertwines themes of power, gender, and identity, creating an immersive, visceral experience where sound, language, and the body collide.
