Biography
Named by Les Inrocks as one of the ten poets of the new generation to watch, Rim Battal has quickly established herself as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary French-language poetry (Vogue).
After studying journalism at ISIC in Rabat and ESJ in Paris, she turned her focus to creative writing, blending poetry, fiction, body art, and visual art within her performances. Rim Battal’s work explores themes of the body, sexuality, motherhood, and the dynamics of power in romantic and familial relationships, as well as reflecting on the broader state of the world today.
Her eighth book, x et excès, was published by Le Castor Astral in February 2024. Her debut novel, Je me regarderai dans les yeux, was released by Bayard in 2025.
