Biography
Florence Hougardy (she/her) is a clinical psychologist and director of the Jette family planning center, the first family planning center to offer demedicalized HIV screening (rapid test) to its users. As a student, her research focused on sex workers. Aware of the specific health needs of LGBTQI+ communities, she has developed an inclusive approach at the family planning center by organizing, together with her colleagues, dedicated medical, psychological, social, and legal consultations, as well as informational interviews for trans individuals. She is a member of the Belgian Trans* and Inter* Psycho-Medico-Social Network as well as the TTBM network, and she practices as a psychotherapist both in the family planning center and in private consultation.
