Step into Wet Nightmares: a darkly seductive Transvestiary of Horrors to mark a decade since the inception of Homografía in Mexico.
Making their Belgian debut, artist Lechedevirgen conjures a visceral, ritualistic performance where Mesoamerican mysticism collides with queer dissidence and horror. Enter a world of poppers-fuelled visions, lycanthropic nahual strippers, anal vampiresses, blood-soaked spells and sexual pacts with demonic entities. At its heart: the trans* shapeshifter Tlahuelpuchi, a haunting figure birthing the wet nightmare.
Lechedevirgen’s work channels the monstrous beauty of non-binary, trans, and BIPOC bodies, unleashing them as forces of resistance and transformation. Blending performance art with decolonial magic, Wet Nightmares confronts white supremacy, transphobia and heteropatriarchal violence through a fierce, unapologetic aesthetic.
