Homografía | Homography invites artists worldwide to contribute to its 2025 edition – that celebrates 10 years of highly suggestive videos, artworks, installations, talks, music and performances that evoke the relationship between body, sexuality, gender identity and artistic expression. Inspired by the queer movement, the festival aims to address various themes with particular attention paid to the questions raised by the struggles, whether they are social, cultural, feminist or anti-racist.
For this special year, we are centering on the following themes:
1. Cooperation/Community as a Way to Fight
In the face of systemic oppression, collective resistance becomes a powerful force. We seek works that explore how collaboration and community-building can act as strategies of defiance, resilience, and transformation. What does it mean to fight together? How do alliances foster liberation and challenge societal norms?
2. Bodies: Physical, Political, Creative
The body is a site of expression, a canvas of identity, a channel that can endure traumas and a battleground for politics. We welcome pieces that examine the multifaceted nature of the body as a medium for art, a locus of power, and a symbol of resistance and fight. This theme invites reflections on embodiment, gender, at the intersection of the personal and the political.
3. HIV Alternativo: Follow-Up on Community Health
Decades after the onset of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, alternative approaches to health and care within LGBTQIA+ and HIV communities continue to be crucial. We are seeking works that explore the evolving narratives surrounding HIV, from personal experiences of stigma and struggle to the collective fabric of positive sex, support, remembrance, activism, alliances, and alternative health practices.
