Biography
Vakah Profana, the Divine Bovine, is a drag Brazilian interdisciplinary artist who lives in Brussels. Born in Rio, not the Marvellous City but the forgotten one near the Amazon Rainforest, she’s been walking on her tiptoes and playing with traditions and stereotypes since early age. Music is her preferred media but she loves to explore the versatility of drag : live singing with a brass band, tarot reading, wrestling, writing, reading for children and elderly people. Her performances often play with the European vision of Latin American culture and the idea of a living multicultural heritage. Don’t worry though, the intellectual bullshit is just a cover for her love for big costumes, melodramatic settings and bad puns.
