Biography
Graduated in Spanish Dance from the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory ‘Mariemma,’ with a Superior Degree in Choreography of Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the Superior Dance Conservatory ‘María de Ávila’, a Master’s degree in LGBTIQ+ Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid, culminating in a performative investigation on the construction of representation codes in the language of Spanish dance and flamenco concerning gender and a Master’s in Cultural Management from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Additionally, invited by the Cultural Management Master’s program at Carlos III University to lead a session on sex-gender dissidences and various LGBTIQ+ issues in the sociocultural realm. Since 2021, he’s a member of the collective La Basal.
He has worked as a performer in various companies, including: Ibérica de Danza Company, Marta Nogal Company, Nova Galega de Danza, Enclave Español Dance Company, Ballet Flamenco de Madrid, De Sangre y Raza, and Yámara Dance Company.
As a creator, he has developed different works: in June 2021, he premiered ‘I’AAM’ in the Original Version Cycle (DT Espacio Escénico) and the Equals Cycle (Nave 73). In September 2021, he premiered ‘Fetiche,’ co-signing the choreography in collaboration with the performers, at CC Paco Rabal and CC Eduardo Úrculo, later performed at Nave 73 in January 2022 and at the Contemporary Scene Festival of Córdoba in November. Building on his first work, ‘I’AAM,’ he developed ‘La Revisión,’ a solo performance centered around body, gender and movement, with which he was a research resident at the Choreographic Center Canal. It has been featured at the Bucles Circuit Festival, Festival 10 Sentidos, Original Version Cycle (DT Espacio Escénico), El Jaleo Cycle (Nave 73), the municipality’s programming for the LGBTIQ+ Pride of Rivas Vaciamadrid, La Casa Encendida (as a beneficiary of the Injuve Youth Creation Grants), the 150gr Festival and. Fabbrica Europa Festival 2024.
